In May 2021 Mia Bowles won the ‘Intermediate Apprentice of the Year Award’ at the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards, an amazing achievement for her and the industry. Mia was chosen for her enthusiasm, growth in confidence and her initiative in supporting other apprentices in the beauty business by creating a handbook and giving practical advice on what they can expect during an Apprenticeship programme.
Mia was interviewed by BBC Radio Oxford to promote the launch of the Awards for this year and to talk about traineeships in the beauty industry. Mia’s passion for beauty therapy and her role as an apprentice at the Skincare Clinic has been recognised and her interview will have given school leavers the opportunity to consider beauty therapy training as a career option.
Supporting Students with Careers in Beauty…
Sarah and Mia attended Carterton Careers Fair in January to promote beauty therapy training at OICB. Held at Carterton Community College, Career Fairs are the ideal way to discover new courses, training facilities and an abundance of career opportunities for those leaving school.
Heidi and Sarah represented the OICB at Marlborough School Apprenticeship event in March.
With many course opportunities for school leavers and those wishing to change jobs, this Career Fair offered everyone a variety of different courses in beauty therapy. OICB are dedicated to providing beauty therapy training for school leavers, job seekers and those returning to work and offer professional qualifications in the beauty therapy sector.
