At OICB, our college team have spent the last couple of months brainstorming about the impact the pandemic has had on not only our industry but also education and how we can adapt to those changes. In light of this we are excited to launch our new prospectus offering NEW courses in 2021 that reflect safe learning practise and are relevant to the ever changing industry. 

COMING SOON: CIDESCO Diploma in Spa Management

This is an online course as we are making qualifications more accessible as well as delivering to a high academic level.  This course is delivered through live virtual classroom sessions.  You will complete 7 assignments over 7 months.  Online sessions will be twice a month.  There are no beauty qualification prerequisites for this course. 

Course breakdown:

Month 1 – Introduction, International Spa Management trends and technology and Business Planning

Month 2 – Operational Management

Month 3 – Leadership

Month 4 – Stock Control and Finance

Month 5 – Marketing and Customer Relations

Month 6 – Human Resources and Continual Professional Development

Month 6.5 – Exam Preparation, Final submission of Business Plan

Independent Home Study is essential of approximately 8-10 hours a week.

NEW COURSE: Facial Electrics Course

Due to the demand by Skincare Brands for qualifications in Facial Electricals, we are running a 1 day a week course for graduates to study this unit and learn all the machines so they can work with brands such as Elemis, Guinot, CACI and Environ to use their amazing electrical machines. Skincare brands are taking their products to the next level using machine technology to help products penetrate better into the skin and to get targeted results.  The Elemis Biotec is an amazing facial machine that is used in Elemis salons, but you can only use this machine if you have a Level 3 qualification that includes Facial Electrics. This course will be taught in the classroom on Tuesdays from February/March 2021 but places are limited as it is already almost full. A Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification is a prerequisite. Course cost is £1,525 plus VAT.

We will run a Body Electrics Course after the Facial Electrics Course for those who want to work with companies like Endermology, or use machines to perform Fat Freezing, Sculping Treatments etc. A qualification in Body Electricals is a pre-requisite to using any Body Machines. Course cost is £1,525 plus VAT.

NEW ONLINE SAFETY COURSE: VTCT Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Beauty and Nail Services

This online course is a knowledge-based qualification aimed at new or experienced beauty therapists, nail technicians or massage therapists. It teaches up to date information about COVID-19 infection prevention methods and safety precautions to maintain high levels of health and safety in the provision of services to clients. This is a fantastic way to show your clients that they are safe in you salon as you are knowledgeable and qualified in Infection Prevention. A must have addition to your qualifications especially now during this global pandemic and for the future of safe working practise. This online course takes approximately 4-8 hours with an online theory exam and VTCT certification. Special Introductory price is £100 plus VAT. Enrol any time.

BACK DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND: Beauty Traineeships

This course is an introductory course to beauty therapy for 16-19 year olds looking to start a career in beauty or nails. This course is free if eligible for government funding and is the perfect introduction to a career in beauty.  This is a 6 week course which incorporates one day at college and one day work experience in a salon.  We will be running this in the Spring.  This is for 16-19 year olds looking to do an apprenticeship or for school leavers. This course is free for eligible students.
